Student Leadership in Mind Body and Spirit
Students are given so many ways to lead at St. Augustine. The list is always growing based on students seeing a need and stepping up to fill that need. Here are just a few of the ways that students are our leaders.
- Students are our Mental Health Champions when they;
- Reflect on things that can bring us to a positive personal view with Mental Health-- Wellness Wednesday announcement by a Student Leader, every week.
- Attend Mental Health Champions Symposiums.
- Public Service Announcements created by student leaders for all students in the school that include Rules for Friendships.
- On Fundays the grade 5 and 6 students are our Sports Captains and Leaders developing activities and leading the other students in them. This includes intermurals as well as the annual Terry Fox Run.
- All students, in every grade, get an opportunity to lead the whole school in Morning Prayer.
- School Safety Patrols get to help students who walk to school cross the street safely going to school and returning home.
- Reading Buddies allows older students to share the love of reading with younger students.
We are so thankful for the opportunities to let our students lead and set examples of leadership in our community
